What guides us

Our Story

We started VentureHealth to bring together healthcare leaders who are thinking differently about the role of governments, the private sector, and service providers in delivering high-quality services to people living in Canada and supporting them in reaching their purpose-driven goals.

Our work is focused not on what resources are available and how should we deploy those resources. Instead, our work is focused on answering the question; what needs to get done, how do we accomplish that while responsibly sharing accountability and risk?

Our core values

Our core values are our first principles. They guide our daily actions and are infused in all aspects of our work.  We will not always get it right, but we will always make a good faith effort to act with integrity, speak candidly, learn continuously from each other, and advance equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism. This is the bar we set for ourselves and our clients.

Integrity

1

We tell the truth. We say what we mean. Our actions match our words and we are accountable for those actions. We do what is right, not what is easy.

3

Continuous learning

We test. We try. We fail. We try again. We learn by doing. The stakes in healthcare are high, but a focus on minimizing risk creates inertia. There is a cost to doing nothing.

Equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism (EDIAR)

2

We are intentional with EDIAR. This means ongoing accountability and reflection, rejecting deficit-based approaches to EDIAR, and taking responsibility for advancing Truth and Reconciliation.

4

To act with integrity, learn from each other, and continue our EDIAR journey, we must be able to speak candidly and ask questions freely. We assume good intent from those at our tables and listen critically to feedback.
